China’s shipbuilding exports continue to grow
Today (July 16), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the latest data of China’s shipbuilding industry in the first half of 2024, and the three major indicators of China’s shipbuilding industry continued to grow steadily, leading the world.
The latest data show that in the first half of 2024, China’s shipbuilding completed 25.02 million deadweight tons, an increase of 18.4%; New orders received amounted to 54.22 million DWT, up 43.9% year-on-year; As of the end of June, the hand-held order volume was 171.55 million deadweight tons, an increase of 38.6% year-on-year, and the three indicators accounted for 55%, 74.7% and 58.9% of the world market share respectively.
Among the 18 major ship types in the world, China ranks first in the world in new orders for 14 ship types.
Full profit of high-end ship orders increased by nearly 2 times year-on-year
There is another very bright indicator in the data of China’s shipbuilding industry released today, that is, profit. In the first five months of this year, the total profits of China’s shipbuilding industry nearly tripled compared with the same period last year.
The latest data show that: from January to May, the national shipbuilding industry enterprises above designated size achieved business income of 253.24 billion yuan, an increase of 26.3%; The total profit reached 16 billion yuan, an increase of 187.5%.
