It is reported that the opening of the "Zhoushan - Guyana, Suriname" route is the first direct route from Zhejiang Province to Guyana, and is currently operated in the form of monthly flights. "In the past, containers and miscellaneous goods sent from Yiwu to Guyana and Suriname needed to be transferred abroad, and the voyage took more than 100 days." According to Xu Chi, assistant general manager of Zhoushan Port Comprehensive Free Trade Zone Terminal Co., LTD., "The opening of the new route will shorten the voyage to about 45 days, greatly reducing the logistics cost of enterprises, and also provide production and living materials for Chinese-funded enterprises in Guyana, Suriname and other regions of various infrastructure projects, and better serve the construction of the 'Belt and Road'."

"Since the supporting terminal of Zhoushan Port Comprehensive Protection Zone successfully introduced the 'Zhoushan-Indonesia' 'Belt and Road' route and normalized operation in March last year, Zhoushan Customs has further optimized regulatory services, promoted the landing of reforms such as' arrival direct loading ', and helped the high-quality development of container business at the terminal." In order to ensure the smooth opening of the new route, Zhoushan Customs set up an on-site support group to provide "one-to-one" guidance services for enterprises, follow up the cargo transportation information in real time, and ensure that "immediately arrived". At the same time, we will optimize the supervision of export container goods, promote the implementation of the "direct loading on arrival" business model, and eliminate the links of port area storage, two lifting, and one short-distance transport in port during the arrival and loading of export containers, greatly reducing the time of goods in port, and achieving "zero waiting" for export goods on board. From January to August, the supporting terminals of Zhoushan Port Comprehensive Protection Zone completed a total of 34,715 TEU of import and export containers, an increase of 53.5% year-on-year, and the efficiency of terminal handling turnover was significantly improved.
