Delay warning!
Recently, strikes continue to occur at ports around the world, please pay attention to the latest situation.
Kuehne & Nagel, the world's largest maritime freight forwarder, has announced that Australian ports face seven days of strike action, and Australia's Qube operating ports of Darwin, Brisbane, Port Kembla and Adelaide have announced further strike action, starting from 00:01 local time on November 8, for seven days.
At the Port of Darwin, workers will work an eight-hour day, starting at 07:00, 15:00 and 23:00, when a ship is in berth, with no overtime or early shift changes. From November 8, there will be an additional one-hour shutdown at 6am every day.
Brisbane has adopted similar measures, including an eight-hour working day and a one-hour shutdown at 05:30, 13:30 and 21:30 each day, plus a shutdown from 23:00 to 07:00 every night from 8 to 10 November.
Port Kembla will also have an eight-hour working day, with shifts starting at 07:00, 15:00 and 23:00 from the time the ship is docked. Starting from November 8, it will be closed from 23:00 to 07:00 every night, and for one hour each at 12:00 and 20:00 every day.
Port Adelaide has taken a similar approach, also introducing an eight-hour day and the aforementioned downtime.
During the strike, container loading and unloading operations carried out by union members will be disrupted, and the strike affects all container terminals, including those in Vancouver, which account for 40 per cent of Canada's cargo traffic.
In this reminder, recently shipped to Canada and Australia freight forwarder owners, please timely pay attention to the latest situation, the possible strike activities for cargo transport delays and impacts!
